Nicholas Edward Miller, 58, formerly of Erie died Feb 6th, 2011 in Casablanca, Morocco following a brief illness. Nick was born in Erie on Dec. 2nd, 1952 to the late Raymond G. Miller and Mary Ann Pietrasiewicz Miller. Survivors include his brothers Patrick Miller & Michael Miller (Linda), a nephew Anthony Miller, a niece Amanda Miller and greatnephews Andrew & Carter Miller all of Erie, with many cousins and dear friends around the world.
Nick had served in both the US Army and the US Navy attaining the rank of Lieutenant aboard the USS Mount Vernon. He had received both a BS and MBA from Gannon University. He had taught at the Downey Community College in Downey, Ca and also was the Dean of the night school there following his naval duties. Nick then proceeded to travel abroad enriching the lives of many others around the world with his teaching abilities in Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Poland and the Czech Republic. He was also a member of Mensa and had been a member of Mensan groups in Kanuma, Japan, Penang, Malaysia and Prague, Czech Rep. Nick would love to share his experiences with everyone he met and shared cuisines from around the world. He wanted to continue to travel and see more of the world and was doing that when he passed away in Casablanca.
Nick was laid to rest in the Ben M'Sick Christian cemetery in grave #366 of lot #44 on Feb 25th, 2011. A memorial mass will be held at 1 PM on Saturday March 19th at St. John the Baptist Church 26th & Wallace Sts.
