Who

Mensans in Hot Water is open to all members of Mensans who have a fondness for onsens, rotenburo, or public baths. However, guests and non-members are encouraged to participate in our activities.

What

Its goal is to foster an appreciation of traditional Japanese onsen culture. Onsens are hot springs, where Japanese like to go and soak.

Where

The group is based in Japan, with members in various locations around the country. Trips to onsens could take place any where.

When

So far, the group has had three formal onsen trips, in the fall of 1997, 1998 and 1999. I have also hosted several other Mensans, individually and in small groups and families, to sample the benefits of this activity. Currently I have moved to the Czech Republic and am opening a business with hot out door baths modeled on the Japanese rotenburo.

Why

Like the wise man once said... 'if you have to ask, you will never understand.'
